Quinn grew up in Raleigh, NC before migrating to NYC after college to pursue a career in the arts. As a lifelong dancer, they have an embodied knowledge far beyond the one they can communicate with words. They grew up arts and crafting with anything they could get their hands on and had their first business as a tween, selling handmade jewelry to the other kids at the neighborhood pool. The entrepreneurial spirit got its hold early and never let go; a lot of their brain is obsessed with germinating ideas and finding fun names for them.
In New York City, Quinn jumped into the world of costumes and found a love for helping artists translate their vision into wearable garments and supporting performers to feel their best onstage. Over their 10 years in the city, they designed costumes for many dance artists, managed the costume shop for a baroque burlesque dance company, fabricated special event costumes for the McKittrick Hotel parties, and worked on the costume build for the immersive dance theatre world of Life & Trust. They specialize in making larger than life, fantastical costumes, as well as costumes that require engineering to pull off.
Along the way, Quinn became a go-to among friends for styling help, costume pieces, and clothing repairs & alterations. Translating their skills for character design to personal style, they discovered how rewarding it was to support individuals as a translator in the language of clothes.
And thus, Sequined Chaos was born! They revel in helping others find their unique personal style and getting to use their sewing skills to make any garment fit and flatter. Clothes have always been a space of joy and identity, and they are here to help you Love Your Clothes!
